New York Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

Previously named the "New York State Association of Pediatric Dentists", NYAPD is the official state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

The NYAPD is an organization of individuals whose primary concerns are in the area(s) of practice, education, research, advocacy, and public service.  The purpose of NYAPD is to advance the specialty of pediatric dentistry for the benefit of the oral health of the public.

NYAPD seeks to accomplish this purpose by being dedicated to:

​

1. Advancing and extending the knowledge of pediatric dentistry

2. Encouraging and promoting pediatric oral health research, dental training, and continuing education

3. Encouraging certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

4. Informing and directing public opinion regarding matters of pediatric dentistry

5. Promoting the oral health and general welfare of infants, children, adolescents and persons with special health care needs

6. Promoting the highest ethical performance of the pediatric dentistry profession

7. Encouraging free interchange of ideas with other organizations 

8. Being an active component of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

9. Being an active component of the Northeastern Society of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

10. Representing its membership in areas of peer review, liaison with other health care groups, governmental agencies and the general public
